Miss Smith's - Inquiry Project
Making Math Fun
Foreword - Thanks for all the students and parents taking part in this inquiry project for me. I am very excited about this project and would love feedback whenever possible.
My goal is to bridge the gap between students and parents at home. Students can now bring home exciting math games that can engage the whole family while working on counting and basic math skills.
You will find many different games from print out board games to using dice, playing cards, dominoes and also games using the internet and or Ipad/Iphone. I have added numerous grade levels to the webpage to help students be motivated to work ahead. Through regular assessment and regular contact we will work together to have your child working at a level that works for them. (If you have other elementary level students at home, please let them enjoy the website as well. I would to here feedback about that as well) Please also note, the students will be receiving game bags on Fridays to take home. We would encourage you to first complete this game with your child before finding more games online. Students will be receiving rewards in the classroom as they complete more and more games. Please don't forget to send them back to school on Monday's.
I will be sending home regular surveys with your students and we really appreciate any feedback you might have. Please visit the contact me link to send me any questions or comments you might have in the mean time.
To help the students get the most out of this project, I would also love to here comments about the games. Are they too easy, difficult or plain boring for the students? I could then make adjustments to the webpage.
For the next couple months I will be adding games every chance I can get. Please come back frequently and enjoy math building skills at home.
